APRIL 29 - May 1, 2011 SMOKY BEAR CG

The initial plans for the VOLUNTEER CAMPERS' Kick-Off Camp-Out for 2011.. are well underway. At this point in time we are planning the event as follows:

APRIL 29 - May 1 Friday through Sunday (some campers may arrive on Thursday)
SMOKY BEAR CAMPGROUND
Cosby, TN (near Gatlinburg)

SMOKY BEAR's campsite rate for 2011 will be $35 per day (off season: March-May 13th).
Volunteer Campers will receive a 10% discount for this event.
(Chong also said: "and little more for cash deal")
You will also get live music and our famouse Sunday breakfast. (omelets in bag)

Tentatively, we plan to attend. That might have to change, but it's now in the blackberry!!

cool! I wanted to get this plan underway.. so people can clear the way and attend. I know some like to come in on Thursday.. so they might need to take a vacation day or something. Thats what I will do.. I am already planning on camping Thursday - Sunday.

Just spoke with Chong O'Leary.. She is looking forward to seeing us again. We will try and get into sites 13 - 22.. you can call and reserve anytime. BE SURE AND MENTION VOLUNTEER CAMPERS.

I am already reserved in site #16.

The Clarks will plan to be there. I may add wings to the camper and charge for sky rides.

its the one I had in 2009.. the one next to you. I like it better than 18 (the one I had this year).

I am hoping we can make this trip, I wish I was able to make some this year with the group

yes it is.. I will need to figure out a different date. I don't mind going on easter.. but I can see where most folks would have other plans. I didn't realize that the date for Easter varied so much from year to year.. its all over April and even sometimes March.

We can do the weekend before.. or the weekend after Easter.. any preferences?

We camped last year for Easter at Bandy Creek, fun...

You might want to poll for which weekend good. Either is ok for us, we will need to take vacation days either way.

I spoke with Chong about the scheduling problem.. and have decided to move the event to the week after Easter. (April 29 - May 1, 2011) The week before EASTER is the K-Town sams rally at Smoky Bear.. and they will take up most of the sites.

Well since you all are having the first even late in month, It's a good chance we can make it. Talking to Karen we leave Fla and go right to Smoky Bear. There will be no unloading and loading everything is with us anyway. That's if it stays at 29 Th on .

Works for me. The only thing that'll keep me away is the unexpected good fortune of some more work. Right now, it's looking good for camping that weekend.

OFFICIAL EVENT DATE: Friday April 29 - Sunday May 1, 2011
(some campers may arrive Thursday, or earlier.. and stay extra nights)

When you call.. be sure and tell her you are with VOLUNTEER CAMPERS. Ask for a site between #13 - #22.

I just made my reservation for this camping trip - I am in site #19. I think that is the one that Craig was in last year. Wanted to be just a little closer to the playground for the kids.

Try and reserve a site between #13 - #22
In my opinion.. the best sites are 15 - 22.
