Smoky Bear Campground
Hi Volunteer Campers,
Greetings from the Smoky mountains. I am very excited to hear that new camping club is being formed. This is top of the line (5 star) campground, small and personable and located across street from the Great Smoky National Park and 12 mile east of down town Gatlinburg. Due to having a Club House which is built like restaurant, we had many groups last 4 years that we have been owners. If we can do anything to accommodate your group, small or large, we will be happy to, in future. If you have any question, please call me direct,
1-800-850-8372 Chong O’Leary, owner/manager.

Re: Smoky Bear Campground
Never have camped here but have read good things about this cg. This cg is a good ways from all of the traffic in the Gatlingburg area. Would like to camp here sometime.

We also have not stayed here, but have always heard good thing about the place. After looking at their website, I would consider this campground as a possible one for next years camping.

I have camped here before. It is not a big campground but it is woodsy and the owners will help you back if needed. As some of the sites are small. I can honestly say that out of all of my years camping this has been the only CG that helped and actually knew what they were doing as they were assisting you back. They are a hands on owners which in my book is a plus. Definitely not a corporate type of environment.

OK.. Looks like SMOKY BEAR will be on the list for 2010 camping events. The reviews I have read.. and other campers I have talk with.. always speak highly of the O'learys (owners). Even though I want to do Nat Parks, State Parks and such.. I also want to include some commercial CGs.

They may not be in a National Park but they are with in lob distance of one. You can walk to the national park without too much trouble. The nice thing is that they have sites from a Tent up to a 40 footer. In the warmer months i think they have events for the younger kids.

I really liked this campground. Not really big but comfortable.
