Good Luck sent....

You are keeping this one close to the vest it seems. I know you mentioned it in the other thread.

Waiting for details & pics Shocked

On the upside, tonights rain will insure that any moisture issues can be easily spotted.

Its a used unit and if it appears the same, in person, as it does online.. its a very good deal! And yes.. I thought the same thing about the rain.. gonna be a good time to check for leaks.

Looking at a camper Empty Re: Looking at a camper

The camper is all I expected.. and I was able to negotiate a pretty good price.

I checked every cabinet, under the dinette seats.. under the bed storage area.. and every nook and cranny for water or moisture of any kind. Nothing! After the hard rain last night and this morning.. it seems pretty solid.

I opened every window.. and tested every mini blind. Opened and closed all doors, cabinets and drawers.

I got into the stand up shower and was surprised at the room I had. I could shower in my Jayco tub/shower.. but this stand up-corner shower seems to offer more room for movement. There is also enough room to comfortably dry off in the bathroom.. even with the door closed.

The camper has these things I said I wanted,.. if I ever bought another travel trailer.
queen walk around bed,
stand up shower,
bigger bathroom
real closet that you can actually hang clothing in (I like to hang up those Hawaiian shirts).
more inside storage
fridge and freezer (two doors)

The things I wish were different:
more outside storage
smooth sides (its aluminum).. I have read pros and cons on both.. so I can live with it for this price.

Something it has.. that I am unfamiliar with:
A tankless hot water heater.. thats right no tank. It heats the water as you use it. I am doing a little research on the water heater. (its a Girard Tankless water Heater. model: GSWH-1)
One positive.. you don't have to flush out or bypass the WH when you winterize.

BOTTOM LINE: I am still undecided.. told the salesperson I would let them know Monday.

Looks like you are almost back in business. I can't wait to see the unit (if you buy it) in April. I'm glad you found one that has room for you to dress in the bathroom, and good working mini-blinds in case you don't. We sure don't want you to repeat THAT adventure, HA! I'll even give you back your old old beer-can-shaped lights to use on the awning, if you buy it. They'll get you by until you can get another fancy set. Hopefully you still have your hot-dog racks and pie iron.

I don't have any experience of a tankless in a camper, but I have one at home and if our big WH (we have 2) ever ups and dies, we will get another tankless. I LOVE it. You have an endless supply of hot water unless you run out of gas or water. No waiting for it to heat up, but turn on the faucet and it heats it in about 10-15 seconds - quicker than it could run from the pipe from your hot water heater to your faucet. The drawback is that if the power is off, there is no "leftover" water in the tank.

They are definitely more expensive to purchase, but it saves in the long run. Our power bill went down $50 per month as soon as we started using ours and ours is electric, not gas and it was only for ONE bathroom, and not the other 2, washing machine or the kitchen.

We have 2 hot water heaters - our house is long - about 80' and our hot water heater was under the kitchen area on one end of the house. Our master bath is on the other end. The hot water would be cold by the time it got there, so we put another one in just for our bathroom. This is now the tankless or "instant" hot water heater.

That's a nice looking unit, Chuck - just enough room for two, so don't have to put up with company unless you want to. I do also like the shower - mine is the small little bathtub and the girls and I have enough room, but Butch is not really comfy in there. If he goes in forward, he stays that way - no turn around room.

I really like the fold-down rack on the back.....at least I figure that is the one. It's for sale in Knoxville.

You'll have to get you a little scooter to put on the rack!!!

Real nice camper, with just the main needed camping supplies you should have the room. I like the closet; you could hang clothes and add those small easy move plastic drawers at the bottom if you need more storage. Best of luck, hope to see you back on the road again.
