Tennessee residents.. Keep in mind.. We will have to buy a VA fishing license. You can buy a one day license, online, for $8.

Kids DO NOT need licenses. They are exempt for this special fishing day.

Adults will need one.

If is like the one they have in roan mountaib they will not let adults fish except to assist the kids

read a few reviews that mentioned skunk infestations at NT campgrounds.. Donna.. any experience with skunks coming into your campsite? Anyone getting sprayed?

Chuck, 3 years ago, I sat at the camphost site and counted 34 in the field where the playground is now. Then 2 years ago, they were EVERYWHERE!!! After the campground closed, they had an "elimination" day. Last year, I smelled one, but did not see any.

I think they are pretty much eliminated, but you never know. In April, unless it gets really warm in the next few weeks, we should not have much of a problem.

The only one of us that ever got sprayed was Baby, our min pin and she got sprayed twice!!! Twice in less than 3 days!!! You would think she would learn, but NO, she had to go try to play with them again.

Hey Donna, don't forget about the one that came up to Karen's chair that night when she and I was sitting outside the camper. It's funny now. It was real friendly.

LOL, I wish I could have seen that episode with the "friendly" skunk. That must have been a riot once the panic eased off a bit.

Our porch light had burnt out earlier so she heard something beside her and when I shined the flashlight on it to see what it was, it was quiet the surprise. Ask Donna about the lady in sandals.

KICK OFF CAMPOUT - Natural Tunnel State Park
GROUP MEAL SATURDAY NIGHT .. merrykalia and ButchH (Donna and Butch) will coordinate the group meal. More information will be posted later.

THIS IS NOT A RESERVATION and if you need to cancel later.. no problem. We are just trying to get an idea.

6. Richard with the American Heritage Girls Troop!! (12 girls, 3 moms, me) in the group camping area. Reserved. Friday through Sunday.

Any plans for a group gathering Donna? Are we gonna try and eat together.. or just gather after dinner? Either way is good for me.

Yes, Chuck We will have a dinner on Saturday night. I just got back into town and will start planning now. I know that Dave and Jane Jarvis were going to make their reservations yesterday, so they will be attending.

I will get with everybody sometime this week about what they can make to bring. We will do several things in dutch ovens and maybe a few pie iron recipes.

If anybody has something they would really like to do, let me know.

Richard, will you be able to join us on Saturday evening for dinner? About 6:00 ish?

This is the first trip where my girls are cooking their own food. I better stick close by them at mealtimes.

Darlene, I have been working on the DO recipes this afternoon.

We have two different couples that will be joining us at Natural Tunnel.

Dave and Jane Jarvis, who came to Panther Creek in October will again be joining us and Roy and Melinda Nixon will also be there. Butch's nephew and wife, Robert and Reta Hill, will be joining us with a DO on Saturday night. Robert has a DO, but their camper is in need of some repairs, so it is out of commission.

Darlene, and jib, could you do a veggie? A veggie dish, or some veggies that we can grill there? That sounds yummy. Corn, squash, zucchini done on the grill?

Chuck, could you do some bread? Fresh, frozen, however. We can warm it on the fire or in the oven or microwave. or you can make it!!!

Ray and Karen - how about potato salad and macaroni salad? or some mac'n'cheese? I know you did a great job on those last time!!!

In the 3 DOs that we have coming, the Hills and I will make a chicken pot pie and also some beef stroganoff or something like that. The Nixon's have not decided what they will do, but probably some beef short ribs.

Jane and Dave are going to do some desserts. She said, probably 3 different ones, but she loves to do the sweet stuff.

Anything else you can think of that we might need? Let me know. If you don't want to do what I have assigned you, just let me know and we can adjust.

We will plan to eat between 6:00 and 6:30. Cocktails will begin at 6:00 - BYO. (Bring your own)

yea..  me and the Wal-Mart bakery will do the bread!

The weather for the weekend is not available, but the 10 day is showing a high of 80 and a low of 60, with a 10% chance of precipitation.

I hope the rest of the weekend is stacking up to be a great weather weekend.

I don't really think weather people can forecast accurately this far out.. But I'm watching the weather updates anyway. I hate camping in the rain. Right now a 70% ch of rain on Friday. Hope it changes.
