APRIL 25 - 27, 2014 (some campers may arrive earlier in the week)

NOTICE:  I am sorry for any inconvenience this change will cause.. but PANTHER CREEK STATE PARK is not available for this event.  I am sure the change in location will cause problems for some and longer driving distances, etc..  but I think the new adventure.. in a new place (for many of us) will be worth the sacrifice. I promise.. for those in the Knoxville area..  our fall event will be closer to home.  Most likely,, Cove Lake State Park.

Although reservations are not site specific.. You should choose the LOVERS LEAP campground.. if you want to be near other members of our group.

...and in regards to this weekend, how many of you have Dutch Ovens? Just curious if this is something we would be able to do.

just wandering if they will be doing the bluegrass thing this weekend like i read in another post. was planning a trip there for this summer to see this anyway

No dutch oven here.. I think Richard has one.

jb, do you plan to attend the camping trip? Please bring your dutch oven. I think we will probably do several DO recipes. I have one and have a friend that has one, plus yours and Richards and we should be set.

I am getting so excited. This will probably be our first trip of the year, but we may spend a couple of nights in it before then.

Yea we are planning on comming we are waiting to see if my wife can get off on friday before we decide the arival date. I am really starting to look forward to some good camping myself

Could someone please tell me why panther creek was canceled? Did panther creek confirm they would not be ready for the kick off?

Yes, Panther Creek will not be open until sometime in May. Also, our next pick, which was Davy Crockett, will also not be open until sometime in May. Apparently many of the TN state parks are undergoing renovations this spring.

Therefore, it's Natural Tunnel. Hope you guys can still come.

Ok thanks, it will be nice to see the renovations when their completed. Will have to miss the kick off campout though, its a bit far for us to drive, but hope everyone has a great time!

Kim... I wish you guys would come.. It's about 2.5 hours for me.. But I have really been wanting to camp there. So much to see.. I'm excited too.

Last thing Carolyn wants to do on her weekends is spend it driving since she does that for a living, and I am not comfortable driving towing the trailer. If we had three days it would be worth it, but leaving on Saturday morning just cuts the time too short. That is why we mostly local camp on the weekends. Take lots of pics for those of us who cannot attend!!

I forget Kim.. But what part of east Tennessee are you on?

I have two Dutch ovens, one is a bigger one. I can make the potatoe and bacon thing that everyone seems to like (Dar, I'll make you some without the magic ingredient).

Sorry guys but Brenda and I won't be able to make this one. We had some unexpected family plans come up for that weekend, so we will try and catch you next time.

jb, so glad you guys are going to be able to be there. I know several boys that will be tickled to death to have more boys - with your 2, I believe we might be up to 6 boys under the age of 10. I think we will have 5 girls. WOW! I will make sure we have some activities that they can do.

OldTimer (Gary), sorry you won't be able to join us. We were looking forward to meeting you and Brenda. Maybe we can camp with you later in the year.

I am sorry to say that Rita and myself will not be at Natural Tunnel due to Rita's work schedule.

I really wish you were able to come, Tim. Why don't you just leave Rita at home and come alone. Would she get too upset? Anyway, we will miss you if you are unable to attend, but you could ride up for a little while on Saturday, just to visit.
