I subscribed. Too good a deal to pass up. Be sure to check two years. It will quote you a higher price, but when you enter the coupon code and click on update, it drops the price to $5.99.

What are the advantages to this magazine? Is most of it stories or ads?

The magazines have how to do repairs, people who have problems with repairs, the magazine company some times get things done for them. Lot of company's don't want things like that being put in print. So the world would know how bad they do repairs. Good places to camp, camping stuff that's new really a wealth of information.

I'm glad I got such a great deal on the price of Trailer Life magazine (2 years for $6.00). After two issues, I'm thinking that's overpriced. What a dud magazine about such an interesting hobby. Not sure what I was expecting, but this magazine sure wasn't it. Maybe the issues will get better with time. I've got 22 more issues headed my way. I sure won't be renewing unless it gets a lot better between now and then.
Re: Good Offer on Camping Magazine
wow.. perception is everything I guess. I thought the MAG was pretty good. I enjoy thumbing through the pages and have found many good articles. I like it!
Re: Good Offer on Camping Magazine
But Chuck, it's full of campers that are all lots better than mine! And stories about cool places that I'll likely never get to camp in. Sour Grapes and all that stuff.
Re: Good Offer on Camping Magazine
We should start our own magazine, we could call it the Weekend Warrior, or maybe the Adventures of Miss Danger. It could have articles about how to prop up the lift arms of your camper, or the most efficient way to have your camper and trailer towed (I would write that one myself). We could do campground reviews to include camp driveway and the Bivens Back Yard, and other fine establishments. There would definately be a section with interesting How-To articles such as: creating folding camping tables from discarded walkers, building bean bag games from scrap lumber, new and inventive uses for used burlap coffee sacks, and of course the Omlette in a Baggie. Finally, there could be an "Ask the Editor" section for fielding questions like "where is the best place to put a drain in your camper" or "how long can I run my camper's electrical system on just the battery" or even "what is the best way to put a doggie door in the side of you class C". The best part is we already have a staff of willing contributors, editors, and experts (I use that word loosely). What cha think??

Hey that sounds like a plan and we can help out with that doggie door in campers.

Re: Good Offer on Camping Magazine
Alan, it sounds like this board in print form. Crawford, you could add the How to service your chassis through the floor of the camper!
Re: Good Offer on Camping Magazine
We could also do the thing about the tow vehicle and it's limits, especially when it gets LOTS of miles on it.
We've modded lots and lots and we do travel quite a bit, so we can probably do a few articles about that subject.
I guess my fave would be about camp cooking!! Wow, I love to do that.

Re: Good Offer on Camping Magazine
OK, I take it back. Trailer Life had an article this month that made the whole 2-year discounted subscription worth it! They had a great write up on camping in the Virginia Highlands. It included lots about Grayson Highlands, and that's someplace I'm planning to go this year.
