3-2-2012 Storms

Is everyone ready for these storms again? The April 27 2011 storms the hail busted out my vent covers. I replaced them with ones that are alot thicker than the originals. I just wished I had some nice days to go with my off days from work to get the roof put on my shed for the camper that I am building.

I am hoping the hail misses my new2me camper. This one has a big skylight over the shower.. plus the fantastic fan. we had a little light hail earlier in the week.. I checked.. everything is ok. I wonder how strong the skylight is.. is it plexi-glass?.. plastic? not sure.

The sky lights must be pretty strong because I had a car that the hail busted out the rear window, and it just got my vent covers and did not affect the sky light above the shower. This was inbetween golf ball size and baseball size hail. So I feel good about the skylights, or I just got extremly lucky one!

I'd have to straighten out a place on Miss Danger to be able to put a dent in her. She's been through hail storms before and has the zillions of little dimples to prove it.

This is our hail from the Feb 29th storm. I took this 30 - 40 minutes after the storm had passed because I put my boys to bed before I ventured outside to survey the damage. It was 65 to 70 degrees out and hadn't melted yet.

Trashed my less than a year old roof. Camper appears OK though.

We had to visit the basement twice last night and that is VERY unusual here in the mountains. Hope no one suffered any major damage.

we really lucked out, in Clinton. Seemed like the storms went around us all night. We were under a Tornado Warning a couple of times. We did get one pretty rough thunderstorm around 9:30pm.. some pea sized hail, lightening, high winds and rain.. but it only lasted maybe 5 mins or so.

We're ok here in north Knoxville. Like Chuck, we had some pretty good storms, but no damage.
