Re: 2012 Trips
Well, we had a big trip planned for the summer, but our plans have now been changed. Our niece, who is more like a daughter to us has joined the MARINES, so we have to be on the east coast on July 13th. We had planned to be in Yellowstone at that time.
So....
We are going to head to Maine, New Hampshire and that area, with no real plan or reservations, but will definitely do Old Orchard Beach. We spent a few days there when we went about 10 years ago and I really liked it. We have a couple of weeks to go wherever the lobster is good!!!
On the way back south, we will stop in NYC on June 30th and stay through July 5th. I have reservations at Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City. Apparently, it's just a big parking lot, just across the bay from the Wall Street area. The Statue of Liberty is within sight of the park and that is one of the reasons we are planning to be there....Elora has to see it! We also have gotten tickets to see "BLUE MAN GROUP" on their last night there. I am just thrilled about that.
Well, actually the BMG is the ONLY thing I am thrilled about going to NYC! I HATE it! Way, way too many people and big buildings for me, but I guess vacation is about doing something for everyone and this is Butch's pick.
After that, we will be heading to Folly Beach, SC where our church is doing a mission trip - working with an equestrian program for Autistic kids, doing some construction projects. We will leave the Charleston area early on Friday and go to Ashley's graduation, which is about an hour/half south of there.
Following her graduation, we got reservations at Hunting Island SP, which is about 1/2 mile from Parris Island and we will spend the next week there.
We will head back home after that week is up, clean the camper, take care of whatever needs to be taken care of at the house and then it is back to Natural Tunnel for the month of August.
So, we only have 3 reservations, but we will be gone most of the summer.

I was thinking the same thing while I was typing that out! (That couldn't be a good thing!)
Re: 2012 Trips
Have a reservation in Cincinnati, Ohio in May. My family is doing a reunion on May 12th.. I decided to pull the camper up for a few nights. Not crazy about a bunch of "long distance" trips with the camper.. but an "adventure" every now and then is kinda cool. It's about 250 miles.

250 miles sounds like a hop skip and a jump to me. Anything less the five hundred just a short trip.

most of my camping is within 40 miles of home. I can drink beer and burn a weiner here.. just the same as 500 miles from here.Crawford wrote:250 miles sounds like a hop skip and a jump to me. Anything less the five hundred just a short trip.
