spring break dates
I would really love it if we could all try to get together in march for a camping trip. I know that spring break dates are usually toward the end of march and beginning of april. This would be a weekend trip so it would not have to be on spring break, I just know that it is sometimes easier that way. I was thinking in pigeon forge since that seems to be the most centrally located high-concentrated camping area. I also like Townshend a lot. I would really like to get together with everyone, it has been quite a year and I would love to just sit back and relax. I figure we could do a huge pot of chille, and of course some gourmet hamburgers. Macy and Rachel would love to hang out with all the rest of the kids, especially their hero "Jon Jon". Well, think about it guys.

Townsend is a lot more laid back. Less Traffic and Being how I have never camped there I say Townsend.

We would love to go as well. Only problem is we aren't picking up our rv until the second week of April.

Re: spring break dates
We don't have a dte set so if you need it to be after the second week in April, that works. I would suggest Misty River RV in Townshend, it has a playground for the kids, a beautiful river for fishing. Check it out

Re: spring break dates
OK, April the 13th, 14th, and 15th would be a good weekend. It is the the weekend after Easter. Although I would love to stay at a state park, unfortunately many do not have a reservation system.
tentatively: april 13 - 15 at Misty River (everything is subject to change)

Re: spring break dates
A little too far in advance for us, but the Hutchinson's will plan to be there, too.
Re: spring break dates
We would love to host a campout the weekend after Easter, April 13 & 14th. We have a large Smoker that you can use and for the dinner, you can use our conference center that is 40'x 40'. It is the same room that we use it to hold the dinner for our vintage rallies in. It's a great room with a wood burning fireplace and AC or heat if you need it. We also have a large group fire ring that we use for our weekly marshmallow roast during the summer that you can use.
Our regular rate is $42.00, but we will offer a special for the Volunteer Camping Club of $32.00. It's the same price as our vintage rally. There is no charge for the use of smoker or the conference center. All that you will need to do to get the rate is to ask for it and tell you want site with the Volunteer Camping Club.
If any one can’t make it over to camp but can squeeze the time to make it over to just to say HI and visit with the other members, come on over we have lots of parking. It’s not ever a problem and we don’t charge you to stop by and see someone. BUT if you bring home made cookies into the park, we do charge a two cookie prenatally. Just drop them off on my desk. Please make note that this will not apply to store bought cookies.
Just give us a call at 865-981-4300 to book your site. If there is anything else we can do to make this happen, let me know :-)

Sounds like a group camping trip in the making. I think Al brought this up, so he should be in charge.

Re: spring break dates
Thanks Jimmy for the use of the smoker. I'm thinking ribs mmmmmm! There are about 5 families who have said they may go, that is great. I hope maybe a few more may come. Go ahead and ask off work now guys lets try to make this trip, the club has grown and changed and I would love to meet the "new" guys and see all the regulars as well.
Also, I know everyone has a camping kitchen specialty, something you cook better than anyone else. Be thinking about that specialty and we will all bring our specialties together for a meal, a "camping covered dish", or perhaps a "pop-up pot luck", or maybe a "fleetwood feist". I gotta million of em!!!

Re: spring break dates
Boy this is turning out to be the makes of a nice lil meeting. I make a mean pan of home made baked beans. But I will tell you all I am on a low carb kick, so if all you see me eating is chicken/beef and veggies please don't be offended. Now my wife on the other hand is out right picky lol....
I am thinking we are cutting it close, lol we are literally going to pick the motorhome up right before the trip we may have to pick it up early to get it ready for the trip.

Re: spring break dates
This is the perfect shakedown cruise Dave. If it breaks, you'll have the rest of us to help you patch it back up.
Wildfire is really looking forward to seeing everyone again. Don't worry, there will be plenty of photo ops and autographs.
Sounds like it's time to get out the aluminum walker and the dutch oven and the recipe book. The potatoes turned out pretty good, but anything with that much bacon would be good.
Tim, you can make chips, coke and other similarly complex menu items. It's gonna be great to see Coolbreeze actually use his awning lights.

Great to here you are coming, are you bringing the three-wheelers? I would love to take a cruise on one (my kinda bike, especially after the accident).Crawford wrote:Well we will be there also, no hot tub tour this year now we have a new person in our camping family now.
