Nothing to do with campng but something to think about while you're waiting for camping weather to get here

Start with a common 9 letter english word. Take away a letter and end up with a new 8 letter english word - take away another letter and end up with a new 7 letter word - take away another letter and end up with a new 6 letter word - keep taking away a letter to end up with a new word until you have 1 letter left ... this last letter also is a common english word. What is the 9 letter word?????

I'm just an old country boy. I'm not sure I know any 9-letter English words.

Still, at six letters it's "String".

Now if I can figure out why a mirror reverses things left-to-right but not top-to-bottom. After all, a lens reverses both ways.

Richard, you do know a 7 letter word. It begins with a "A" and ends with a "A"

Actually, "String" is one of the correct steps in Art's puzzle.

As for the word you refer to, we just call it 'Bama, so more of us can spell it.
