Weather for the weekend
Well guys, it's SNOWING!! in Norton!!! Got up to take Elora to school and it was sleeting, then by the time I got her ready to go, it was snowing. Big time!!
It has snowed all morning long, sometimes, so hard I couldn't see my neighbor's house which is about 50' away. But.....nothing is sticking. The ground is wet and warm, so it just melts as soon as it hits, but the car is covered, as is the TT.
Boooooo on snow this early. I want it to snow at Christmas time, but not too much before that. It's fall, not winter! We had tentatively planned a camping trip this weekend, but with the high only supposed to be about 40, we will wait and maybe go next weekend.
Oh well, just venting. Have a great weekend.

Re: Weather for the weekend
I also thought about camping this weekend.. and backed out. I have been away from home part of the week.. and I will be gone again next weekend.. So I decided to stay around town and get a few things done. Plus the COLD forecast and chance of sprinkles didn't sound very inviting.

If you get on the "our map", I/we are on there.
It is in Virginia, about 50 miles north of Bristol, 12 miles west of eastern Kentucky and about 50 miles south of West Virginia.
That little triangle shape at the end of Virginia, we are about dead center.
And, we are also in the mountains. Norton is at about 2600 feet, but High Knob, which I can see from my house and is now completely white is at 4800 feet.
It's a beautiful place.

I had Lisa (my bride) plug in my water heater on the camper, as I haven't winterized yet. I would have done it myself, but I'm in St. Louis, MO. tonight.
Re: Weather for the weekend
temps here (Clinton, Tn) dipped to around 34 (briefly) Saturday morning. Tonight's prediction is down into the upper 20s. I will probably go ahead and winterize today. I don't really think a few hours below freezing will do any harm.. but a couple gallons of anti freeze is a small price to pay for peace of mind. Plus,.. I may not be camping again til spring anyway.
Re: Weather for the weekend
We almost packed up for this weekend as well. But a cold rainy day and an even colder night put a damper on camping this weekend.

Since Chuck said the temp was going to get down below freezing, I think I will just blow out my lines with air and add some pink to the drains.

Well, this morning, we had about 1 - 1 1/2 inches of snow on the ground and cars. There was none on the roads, but the girls had a blast playing in it.

Well went an blew out the lines in the 5'er. Don't have to worry about the outside shower, since I ordered the 5'er without one.abivens wrote:You guys that are winterizing, don't forget the outside shower!!!
