Although we do like Bandy Creek, We will just be getting back from vacation (Florida) when you are going there. Have fun and be sure to let us know how things went with the astronomy thing.

I knew you guys were going to be in Florida in June.. so I didn't think you could make it. Maybe someone else will make the trip. If not.. I will just do the "solo" thang.. Probably going to leave Max at home.. so I can drive up to Stearns, Ky and ride the train again.. then go to the astronomy show Saturday night.
Maybe others can make reservations for the "Haunting in the Hills" in September.. hurry while sites are still available.

Just a reminder... I am still set for camping at BANDY CREEK (Big South Fork Recreation Area) June 22 - 24. Campground reservations: CLICK HERE
here's more info on the special event that weekend: 06/23/2012
Location: Bandy Creek
Time: 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Fee Information: Free
Contact Name: Bandy Creek Visitor Center
Contact Phone Number: 423 286 7275
June is a great time to view the night sky! The summer Milky Way pours across the sky on a clear evening and you can see it so much better without the intrusion of numerous city lights at Bandy Creek in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.
On Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 9:30 p.m., Big South Fork will be hosting an astronomy program presented by Paul Lewis from the University of Tennessee. Night sky viewing will follow after the program. The astronomy volunteers will set up telescopes and you will have an opportunity to look through these large telescopes to view deep space objects and the planets. This program will be held in the large parking lot across from the Bandy Creek Visitor Center.
Bring a chair or blanket to sit upon. This program is free to the public and everyone is invited to attend. In case of cloudy or inclement weather the slide program will be moved indoors. For information about this program please call Bandy Creek Visitor Center at (423) 286-7275.
