Camping in MAY
I am gonna be out of town next weekend.. and busy the following. But I would like to take a "close to home" camping trip on the weekend of May 11th.. if anyone is interested.
I am thinking BANDY CREEK or INDIAN MT.. maybe?

Re: Camping in MAY
It's not close to your home, but we are going to Natural Tunnel the 3rd weekend in May (18, 19 and 20) and will probably stay all week and the next weekend, too.
Re: Camping in MAY
Indian Mt is definitely "closer to home" than Bandy...We'll look into it. Could be a possibility.

Bandy is 18 miles further for me (and the Krals).. however.. because there's more off interstate driving.. that extra 18 miles adds about a 30-40 minutes to the trip.

We may be interested in going, we were looking at going somewhere around that time frame anyway. Logan and I are going on a boyscout camping trip this weekend at Gee Creek. It will be time to put up the tent again!

I'll be in Jellico on May 6th to visit family, I'll take a drive through. My sister said they have been working every time they came through the park. This upgrade is only on a few sites.

Re: Camping in MAY
Well I got home Monday after work and had 2 different graduation invitations in the mail, one for the weekend of the May 12th and one for the May 19th and then we are having a big family cookout on May 26th. So my betterhalf informed me our weekends for the month of May are booked up, but on the bright side of this we leave on the 28th to go to River Plantation for the week and will stay there untill June 3rd. So if anyone would like to join us at River Plantation anytime during that time frame come on up!

I'm free for a few days that week, so if you DO decide to go to ALASKA, let me know and I might go with you!!!!
Re: Camping in MAY
Carolyn and I have reservations at the Sweetwater KOA that weekend. We really enjoy this particular KOA for a weekend getaway, the place is exceptionally clean and they have a doggie park, pond to fish in, giant trampoline for the kids, store and laundry facilities. Usually on saturday nite they have a barbque and on sunday mornings I think a breakfast. This particular weekend its some special with one nite free. Anyone would be more than welcome to come and camp with us. We will be arriving Friday nite the 11th and leaving Sunday morning. Check it out:

Please post pics & a review of your trip to Sweetwater koa. We drove through there several years ago but haven't been back. It would make a great home base for Sweetwater Valley Farms & the Mayfield factory tour.
We'll be at the KOA in Townsend again this weekend. That is two weekends in a row. I could get used to this.

Yes! would really like to see pics of the place.
I didn't think about it being a "home base" for SWF and Mayfield tours. That's a great idea!
...We could also really get used to camping all of the time...Maybe even full time one of these years...

Drove up to Jellico today and the Indian Mountain Camp ground is clean and a few sites now have concrete pads. Looked better then I have seen this state park in the past year.

Looks like a nice weekend (5/11-13) , weather wise, for camping.. anybody got any plans? I am thinking since it's Mothers Day weekend.. and a couple weeks before Memorial Day.. maybe the state parks won't be full.. or at least that's what I'm hoping.
