I have high hopes of posting in this topic someday, and without trespassing.

What type and size are you looking for? And if you've already posted that info somewhere, please overlook my cluelessness!

I think Richard would more likely want a hybrid. Keep him close to his P-Up roots

I like Chuck's TT. I like the idea of a Hybrid, but I like the idea of faster setup and takedown as well. At this point I have no money, so I'm just window shopping. When and if business picks up, I'll be looking for something along the lines of Chuck's rig, or possibly like Kralcamper's or Trailcruiser's rigs.
I'm likely a year away from actually buying anything, but ya never know.

Kralcamper was about a year away too.. look what happened. Short year!
Re: It's out there someplace, just waiting for me.
When I was looking.. I was open to either a hybrid.. or hard side. Would have bought either depending on the deal. My deal kinda fell into place.. and it happened to not be a hybrid.
Having said that.. I'll say this. Sometimes I am glad it isn't a hybrid. Things like wet canvas (or vinyl).. a little extra take down and set up. In extreme cold.. you still have cold air under the bunks. But.. when I see the extra floor space in a hybrid.. I wish I had one. Kral's RV is similar in towing size.. but when set up they have tons more living space. and I kinda miss the "tent feell" too.
Anyway... it's kind of a toss up.. Richard.. look for the best deal on what you really want!

Those years do tend to shorten up when a good deal comes along

But, But, But my wife would kill me if I bought a camper with business this slow. Then again, I'd have a place to go to! Maybe it will be a short year somehow.
Re: It's out there someplace, just waiting for me.
Here is the reason you give your wife. Honey, it was for medical reasons I bought this camper. If I had to work on this cable system again I would go insane

Since KralCamper knows my pain on the Viking/Coachmen PUP first hand. I'm waiting to hear the ins and outs of Hybrids. There's just gotta be a downside to folding out the bunks versus just having everything inside a hardside.
Re: It's out there someplace, just waiting for me.
I'm probably sure that there is a down side to every camper, be it a pup or a class A. You just try to find the one that fits you best.Richard wrote:Since KralCamper knows my pain on the Viking/Coachmen PUP first hand. I'm waiting to hear the ins and outs of Hybrids. Richard, there is one big downsize to the HTT. The front bunk end will hold water if traveling in a rain storm. You will only see it when you lower the bunk end down. We are looking into a fix, but on the other hand the modification still continue for the Krals. The mattress for each bed has three pieces and folds up with the bunk end. Not comfortable to sleep on. This is another fix in mind. Since we only camped once, we my find more, but I hope not..I really enjoyed the last trip..

With all those kids you are definately going to want some floor space, especially for those trips when you get pinned inside due to rain.

One of the nice things about pop ups is that they actually have a pretty good amount of space when opened up.

Re: It's out there someplace, just waiting for me.
I am so excited. Dave and Darlene have plans to sell my HTT to me at the end of the season this year, ish. The timing is far from firm, and I don't know the price yet, but Itoldthem that it is a deal! I am saving up. It is going to be a great day when it becomes mine.
Re: It's out there someplace, just waiting for me.
Good for you Richard.. It's a great camper.. Well cared for.
Re: It's out there someplace, just waiting for me.
That's wonderful. I wonder how much you can get out of your popup? or do you plan to put it on a permanent site on your property?

I doubt I can get much for it. It was barely used when I got it. That is not the case now. Plus I suspect that most people would see all my mods as a deterrent, rather than nice. Miss Danger is far from stock, and far from simple. I might just keep her for a while.
Re: It's out there someplace, just waiting for me.
Richard your to funny. Well this HTT is almost rebuilt. Lol I my go back to tent camping.

I am figuring that the price will reflect all those improvements.
Re: It's out there someplace, just waiting for me.
Darlene, you won't have to camp in a tent. I have a pop up you can use. You will find it quite familiar.
