I found a great guide to Tennessee Camping on Google Books. It's here:
http://books.google.com/books?id=U5vHWo9xZIgC&lpg=PA20&ots=YbC5oZXqRi&dq=low%20gap%20campground%20tn&pg=PR5#v=onepage&q&f=true
It had a bunch of campgrounds around East Tennessee that I've never heard of. It was written in 2004, so it reasonably current. This is a sample, not the whole book. I may have to pick up a copy from Amazon.

This is really interesting reading, I have seen camping books at the Welcome Center in Smoky Mountains. I wonder if this could have been one.

I was out that way earlier today, so I tried to find "Low Gap" campground. I got on the road. It got smaller and smaller, turned to gravel, then dirt, then dirt with considerable water damage. I turned around when I got to the Road Closed sign.

No wonder they were closed. It said that it was open from April to Dec. The need that extra down time to fix the roads. Very Happy Smile
