Dutch oven meal
This past weekend while we were at Elkmont, there were 11 of us, 6 adults and 5 kids, ages 3-9 and we were HUNGRY!! This was about 1:30 pm. I had the dutch oven and a small beef roast, potatoes, mushrooms, mushroom soup and the Lagow's (our neighbors) had some polish sausage.
Cut beef roast into 1" pieces, browned in dutchoven, added 10 potatoes cut into 1" chunks, 1" slices of 2 lbs polish sausage, 15-16 small portobella mushrooms, whole, 1 onion chunked, 1 large can cream of mushroom soup, 1 small can Golden Mushroom soup. Cooked about 45 minutes, until taters are done.
It was really, really good and smelled up the campground real good. Fed all of us a big bowl and the kids even liked it, especially the sausage and there was enough left over for the Lagows to have for dinner that night.
