Panther Creek State Park

Drove up to panther creek sp today, camping area was closed, still under construction. By the looks of it, it wont be done this summer. I could not tell what they had torn up, fixed, improved, ect but I saw alot of dirt...wonder if they replaced that nice grassy area with more campsites? Hope not, I liked the spacing between campsites. Hard to find a park where you don't feel squeezed in.

Just read on the panther creek website the renovations were for re doing the bath houses...and completion should be by June 15th 2014.....website lets you reserve starting the 16th...interesting

From what I heard is that they tore up every site and reconfigured the sites for bigger campers and to make it easier to get into a spot. They tore down both bath houses and are rebuilding them. The weather we had over the winter has thrown the completion date off.

Guess I will drive up this next weekend and have a look see..will try and take some pictures.

Panther Creek's Facebook page says they are now accepting reservations. Half of the CG is open.

I don't think I would want to camp there with construction still underway.

Drove through Panther Creek state park today. The sites on the hill were open the ones on the lower side were not done yet. Didn't look like much was left to do. The road is now one way only and a lot of sites were rearranged. There are now 2 new bath houses.
