Camping next weekend!!

Blowing the dust off next weekend for a couple of days, 4/5 to 4/7 at Davy Crocket Birthplace State Park in Chucky/Greenville. We will be in campsite 53, I think. Come by and say hello.

Please let us know what the campground is like. We have thought about camping there but have not quite made it yet.

We stayed there probably 3 or 4 times last year and enjoyed it very much. It has a good sized pool, horse shoes, and several walking/hiking trails. It's right on the Nolichucky River. It is a family oriented campground, usually with a few kids around. There are a few fire rings throughout the campground, but if you have a portable fire pit you can use it at your site. There are several places to fish along the river. Probably best to have a license, however. Park rangers have been pretty visible when we've been there. (Have to keep adult beverages in a cup!) Most of the sites are level or close to it. Most are pull thru sites with the exception of sites 1 - 15 which are back-in. We always try to get a site on the side nearest the river. They have several full hookup sites (W/S/E), several with water and electric, and several tent sites. All in all, for a state park I think it's a pretty nice place. It's worth a weekend at least.
