Why do campers do this?
I have seen this time and time again.. and I don't know why people do it. I witnessed this again this passed weekend at Smoky Bear CG. WHY?
Parked in the two spots to the right of my camper were a couple of bigger, fancier campers than what I have. One was probably about a 26 foot TT with slides. The other a good sized, newer model, 5th wheel. Each morning I saw the men and lady campers, from these units.. making the trek to the bath house with towels, bags, clothing,..etc etc.. WHY?
We may have some here that do the same thing.. WHY? One of the things I like most about my TT is my own toilet and shower. I would guess my facilities are way smaller than many others.. but (to me) it still beats packing up the stuff and heading out to the bath house.

I don't have a clue why anyone would want to use the bath house if they have their own in the trailer. I for one love my shower and enjoy the fact that I don't have to trek to the bath house on cold mornings.

They dont to pollute their holding tanks.
They think it will help on resale value of their Rig.
Other than that i have no clue...

I can hear it now. "This black tank is as clean as the day I bought it, want to see?"craigw wrote:They dont to pollute their holding tanks.

In my case it may be out of necessity, I have two girls and a wife.

I understand that reasoning. With me .. it's usually just me.. and a dog. The dog doesn't shower and he poops outside (most of the time).

I think Max would shower if he had hands to hold the shower wand. I know he wants to drive your truckchuck wrote:abivens wrote:In my case it may be out of necessity, I have two girls and a wife.

I've often wondered the same thing! To me, the restroom is one of the best things about my camper!

WHY?
It must be the social aspect. They get to meet folks like me while waiting in line.

Well, I'll have to say the first trip in the TT, I still showered at the shower house..it's something new to get used too.

Sometimes it is relaxing to walk across the campground in the cool of the evening heading to or from the shower house, or least thats what I tell myself when there is no hot water left after the girls have finished.

That could be a reason, but I've seen some people where there is only 2 people in the camper.abivens wrote:Sometimes it is relaxing to walk across the campground in the cool of the evening heading to or from the shower house, or least thats what I tell myself when there is no hot water left after the girls have finished.

Re: Why do campers do this?
I know some people do not use their bathrooms at all. If you don't use it, you don't
have to dump it. That has to be the worst part of camping.
We are guilty of using the campground bathhouses at times. Mainly because there are 5 of us if all the kids go camping. That's alot of people to get ready at one time.
