Hungry Mother State Park
Getting ready to pack up and head out to HMSP on Tuesday of next week for 5 days. Look forward to relaxing and doing some hiking, my daughter loves that. She liked to have killed me this spring at GrandFather Mtn. Going to take one day and run to Mt Airy Nc. Praying for good weather.

Just got back from HMSP about 3 pm today. What Great weather we had the past 4 days and a wonderful trip. Park activities at different times all day long for the kids, 15 mile of hiking/biking trails, lake ( fishing, paddles boats, canoes and Kayaks to rent, swimming ) Wildlife all around. We meet many great folks from all parts. Friendly and helpful Staff. We took one day and rode down to Mount Airy Nc, what a great place. Would love to make it back up there in the fall with the color.

That would be great. I am looking right now at and around Oct 21st. This will between HMSTP or Indian Creek campground in Cherokee NC. Wouldn't care to get in a little trout fishing down there along with the colors. We are talking it over and will make our minds up in a day or two so that I can make the reserv. Will post when we do. I have never been to Indian Creek but hear it is nice as well.

I was torn on this one. Would have liked to go back to HMSP and then Richard got me to looking at Grayson. But my daugther really wanted to go trout fishing so that did it. All three would be a great fall trip.

I think Donna and Butch are looking at Grayson for a fall trip as well. Or rather, I think they were last time we discussed it.
I've not camped down at Cherokee, but it sure is pretty down there.

Is Indian Creek a state park or a private cg?
