TWIN LAKES CG on Hartwell Lake (SC)
I have always thought this looked like a beautiful CG.. has anyone been to TWIN LAKES on Hartwell Lake in Pendleton, SC?

probably not.. its more than 4 hours away. But.. I have always thought it looked nice. I think just about every site is lake front.
Actually several sites at HORNSBY HOLLOW are just as nice..and lakefront too.. and its about an hour away.

Hartwell is a pretty lake, that's for sure. But they have those pesky "fire ants" in that area. And all that heat and humidity. Still, a beautiful area.

This would probably make a really nice early spring or late fall trip. That way, you don't get all the humidity, but still get most of the warmer temps.

I lived in Beauford SC, which is next to the Paris Island Marine Corps. base where I worked for 3 yrs. before moving to Tn. It was definitely hot and humid at times but alot of SC. is sandy soil which is perfect for breeding those pesky biting sand fleas. If you go outside you can't get away from them. Late fall is a better time because they will start to hibernate in the sand but I would be certain to bring something for them if I were going to take a trip anywhere in SC. Not trying to bust anyones bubble. Just want everyone to have a heads up on them.
