Very little traffic on most boards
Most camping boards have very little traffic. Even some of the Yahoo Groups I'm in that have hundreds of members have few new posts. The bigger national boards seem to have more traffic, but heaven help you if you ask a question that was answered last year, or start a topic that already exists in a similar form. I like it here because there is traffic, and it's not stuffy, and Chuck doesn't think this is the only board that should be mentioned here. That's refreshing.

glad you "get it" Richard.. that's what I really want out of this place.

Yes over on ETNCC, it is about dead. We still have not made any decisions on where to camp next year.

Re: Very little traffic on most boards
I too have noticed a substantial drop in posts in the winter months on several boards. I guess people just stop posting when they stop camping for the season. I can understand it around the holidays, but Jan. and Feb., and most of March are really dead. I have also been on the receiving end for not posting in the proper thread, or "highjacking" not even knowing what that term meant at the time. They must think that everyone who joins a board should be an "expert" at posting.
This board is refreshing indeed, And we also happen to have some very knowledgeable members if someone should need help, or even just an idea that perhaps they haven't thought of.
Good conversations, good camping, good people.

Some of us never really wanted to know as much as we have been forced to learn about our campers. I'd love to be blissfully ignorant of the shortcuts taken in the original manufacture of my camper. Still, I know how to fix it if anyone has similar problems.
And we have the coolbreeze!
You know, I'm right there with you Richard!

I definately do not wish camper problems on anyone but I always come to the campground prepared. I carry a ton of tools, extra parts, and other stuff. When a problem arises we will be ready.

Re: Very little traffic on most boards
It seems that the folks on here are a bit die-hard when it comes to the camping hobby. We actually camp, and talk about camping.
Are we strange? Naaaa. It must be the rest of the world. The non-campers and blue-moon campers. They are the strange ones.
But don't enlighten them, it's already hard enough to get a spot in a state park in the summer.

I also think that some people are just not "group" oriented. Maybe they have a neighbor or close friend they camp with regularly. Maybe they camp with relatives most of the time. I know a few people who say they tried camping with a group a time or two..and they would just rather.. go it alone. Different strokes for different folks!
I camp mostly with just me and a dog.. so I like having a few others around I know.

I really enjoy the group thing when camping. I really like it because it is a do your on thing camping experience.
