Already miss camping?
Anyone else already miss camping? I know I can still go if I really want to.. and I might. But it just seems with holidays.. working,.. expenses.. it doesn't seem like a trip in the near future is likely.
I don't mind the cool temps.. but I don't think I really am a winter camper. I know some of you love it.. but I think I prefer to be comfortable in the evening around the campifire in a sweatshirt.. not a PARKA and EAR MUFFS! I am glad we are in Tennessee.. and conditions may very well afford a quick trip in December or January, depending on the forecast.
One of those "quick trips".. most likely would be a state park that keeps the water on. Does anyone know what the "water on" practice is at area state or national parks? I might do some checking.

Re: Already miss camping?
Warrior's Path in Kingsport cuts the water and campsites down to just one part of one loop in the winter.
Re: Already miss camping?
I miss camping, like right now we could be camping for Thanksgiving, but not. I would go to Cove Lake the water stays on there all year. Norris and Big Ridge and Indian Mountain state parks have the water off until March.
But I would love to go this week end, I could even stay by the fire all day. Just don't like the rain that is coming though.

Re: Already miss camping?
It wouldn't take much for us to take a trip.

It won't take that much convincing.

I'm burning to take her out for a "field test". I've got a couple of days of work this week and plans this weekend. When Christmas is over, I'm heading someplace. Probably earlier.

Richard, I was grouping you into the "great friends" category, unless you don't want me to.Richard wrote:coolbreeze1 wrote:Miss camping, not really. Miss my great friends camping with me, YES

What about us "Strange" friends. Us "Demented" friends. Don't you miss us too? Maybe just a bit?

I miss camping so much that this past weekend when it snowed we made 4 snow"people", one for each member of the family. Looking at them later...I thought they needed a campfire....was going to make a representation of one out of snow, but it had all melted by then...

Re: Already miss camping?
I have been checking the calendar,.. and weather forecasts. I am off this weekend and next.. but it's gonna very cold. So I probably won't make a trip.
Then the next weekend is Christmas (and I am working too)..
and the next weekend I will probably be out of town.
So it looks like sometime in January before I'll start checking the weather again for a quick trip.

It's held in a large open space building.. kinda like a big warehouse. It's the Knoxville Expo Center. RV dealers from Knoxville, Chattanooga and other areas usually set up four or five (maybe more) TTs and or/ 5th wheels, etc in the building. Thats four or five each.. there are probably 40 or 50 units set up. Some campgrounds set up booths. Lots of camping and camping related businesses are represented.
Last year.. several of us from the ETNCC went on Saturday afternoon.. then met later in the evening at a local buffet for a big chow down! It was fun!

You really don't want to miss this show Alan. We had a great time at the last one plus food.abivens wrote:When exactly is the RV show, I don't want to miss it.
