Ok, so I was over at the Jayco Forum and a question was asked about how fast people drive while pulling their TT. Since that forum is from members all over the US and Canada, I'll ask the same question here.

I do not get in any hurry. When on an interstate highway I might top out at 65. But, more times than not I'll be around 60. On state routes 50 or less.

I try to keep it around 60 - 65 on the interstate tops. With WD Hitch and sway bar my rig tows very well, stable. I have to watch it because I've looked down and been doing 80... I'd just as soon not have a flat or blowout going that fast.

I always say I am going to go slow with Miss Danger in tow, and I do for a while because I know I should. But I end up going 65 to 70 at times. I realize it and slow again till I slowly creep back up.

I usually don't do much driving while we are towing anymore (since my vertigo started), but Butch will normally drive between 60 and 65. That being said, he will occasionally get a little "lead footed" until one of us calls him on it. The girls are getting pretty good at doing it because our GPS will MOOOO if you get 5 miles over the speed limit.

My last truck liked to be in the 63 or 64MPH range as thats where it towed best without hunting around for gears. If we were traveling more than 200 miles or so I would run up closer to 70MPH just to make better time. I also had LT tires on my 5er so I was not limited to 65MPH like most ST tires have.
I have yet to get the new setup out and go down the road with it. I imagine I'll start out in the 60 - 62MPH range and adjust from there.

Thanks for all the great comments. In the past I must admit I have tried to keep up with traffic, but since I now realize that the TT's tires are only rated to 65 mph max I think I will keep my top speed below that (on the interstates) and the speed limit on secondary roads ( or less depending on their condition). I see no need to tear up any equipment to save a couple of minutes on the highway.

Thanks again Very Happy
