Beautiful Saturday
Gonna be a very nice day today.. Would have been nice to camp.. but I can wait til Thursday. Gonna use this day to finish up getting my camper ready.
Earlier this week I washed the camper, washed the awning, flushed water lines and re-connected water heater, tested water lines for leaks, fired up the water heater, re-arranged items in cabinets (tossed out junk), cleaned inside of fridge and wiped down counter tops
Still need to: Mop floor, make up bed, install new mirror and TV mount.

Re: Beautiful Saturday
We have been getting ours checked out the last couple of days as well. I am sorry that we won't get to make the camping trip with the group. We are going to try to stay a couple of days at Hornsby Hollow on Watts Bar Lake next week. Hope is out for Spring break this week and it looks like it is gonna rain Monday and then be pretty the rest of the week. Have to come back to work either friday night or Saturday morning one.
Oh well, maybe we can squeeze in a night or two anyway.
If you are down that way drop by.

Re: Beautiful Saturday
Hornsby is the first place I ever took an RV to. It was my first pop up. I really liked it.

Re: Beautiful Saturday
My "Still need to do" list :
Mop floor - finished
make up bed - washed sheets, etc.. will make up bed at CG
install new mirror - installed with double sided "bulldog" tape.. it fell down. Gotta re-think.
install TV mount - finished ..hope it doesn't fall down.
top off propane tanks - will do on way to first trip.
(Makes more sense than taking them off the camper, securing them in the pick up bed, hauling to the propane place, take them off the truck, carry them to the propane fill station, carry them back to the truck, secure in the pick up bed, drive back home, take them off the truck.. carry them to the camper and lift them back into place.)

Re: Beautiful Saturday
my little TT is pretty easy.. washing the outside is a breeze with a sponge mop. I am not sure I would want to start on a 5th wheel.
Re: Beautiful Saturday
Chuck, you may want to remove the tv from the mount while towing. It could fall off if you should hit a bump to hard.

Re: Beautiful Saturday
actually.. I thought about that... but it seems pretty solid. I would have to pretty much flip the camper for the TV to come out of the mount. So ..I'm going to try leaving it in. Besides.. it's just a $50 TV!coolbreeze1 wrote:Chuck, you may want to remove the tv from the mount while towing. It could fall off if you should hit a bump to hard.

Re: Beautiful Saturday
I've got the battery charged. I've still got to put the emergency backup tent in the suburban and get some groceries. I need to remember my upholstery thread for the canvas repair.

Re: Beautiful Saturday
Saturday, Dave checked everything out with the camper. Checked for any leaks, added air to the spare and all other tires, lite the stove, air conditioner, and hot water tank. ran water through out the camper. Put the battery back in and checked the propane tanks and we are all good....
We will wash the awning and camper Wednesday.

This place looks very nice. I also think the price is great for a place like this on the lake. I'm thinking this could turn into a possible quick trip for us sometime this summer!

I agree.. if those rates are "for real".. it's a pretty good deal! and fishing too!KralCamper wrote:This place looks very nice. I also think the price is great for a place like this on the lake. I'm thinking this could turn into a possible quick trip for us sometime this summer!
Re: Beautiful Saturday
cool: More on the TV and mount. I went out to the camper and looked at it again. It is pretty solid.. but I also discovered.. there is a place on the mount, where the TV slides in,.. to slip a small bolt.. put a nut on the end.. and the TV is secure... it can't come out.
Re: Beautiful Saturday
Thats the actual price. In Meigs county they now have a bed tax as well. All total it is $28.50 per night.
I don't think they have cable but we drove up there and checked it out the other day and it was clean and they were doing lots of work to get it ready.
Most of the sites are lake front and they even have a couple of docks to use for jet ski's and things.
It is around 50 miles from my house to the campground also. Well, actually its closer to 60 the way we have to go. It takes around and hour and a half for us to get there.
