The Clarks actually celebrate Ground Hog Day. We put out decorations, but only 2. We eat Ground Hog (Sasauge). We watch the movie. We recite ground hog trivia (Groundhogs, woodchucks, whistle pigs are all the same animal) We chuck wood, just to see how much. Ahhh, what a day.

It's the perfect holiday. Nobody gets sore if you forget to wish them a happy ground hog day. There are no presents to give, or to get and pretend you like. There are no cards of flowers expected.

Everyone talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it, except the ground hog.

Here's to hoping he doesn't see his shadow this year. We don't need winter to stick around any longer than it has to.

Besides, it's cutting into camping time...

imho.
