Has anyone camped at Lake Powhatan Camp Ground? It's located in a national forest just outside of Asheville, NC?  Why I ask is that it's near the North Carolina Arboretum ... a beautiful place if you're interested in flowers ... and was wondering just how close they were to each other.

The only campground in the Asheville area that I know anything about is Mama Gerties and that is only because our friends, RConkin, goes every year for their anniversary.

It is fairly close to the Arboretum. I don't remember how close... but close. Wink We went last year, to the Arboretum, and stayed at Asheville East KOA and drove through Lake Powhatan while we were there. It was nice and we really liked it. I don't think they allow any boats of any kind on the lake though. Not even canoes. I might be wrong about that but it rings a bell in my head for some reason. We are going to try to stay there this year.
