Pics were taken in "off season".. the lake level was extremely low. During the summer months,.. lake views are much nicer.

Big Ridge is a fun park. In the hot summer it will get busy with the lake side swimming area. The campground is away from the picnic and swimming hole so most traffic is in the front area of the park and not in the campground. There is not a playground in the campground area. The playground is in the front entrance of the park. several hiking trails and tennis court and basketball court.

We talked about going to Big Ridge at some point this spring. Looked at sites 16 and 17. Chuck, your pictures were a big help, thanks. It looks like site 17 has a lot of asphalt on the water/electric side of the camper. Is that just a big site or is it for two campers?

16 and 17 and probably two of my fave sites at Big Ridge.. I have never camped in either.. because they are always occupied. But now with the reservation system maybe I will get a chance.

The back side of 17 ia a big asphalt turn around.. if look at the CG map (on the reservation site here: https://tnstateparks.itinio.com/norris-dam) you can see the big looped turn around. By the way.. in my pictures the lake level was way down and not very pretty.

as you can see.. I have attended the Big Ridge Bluegrass festival a couple of times.. its a lot of fun.

Chuck what are the dates for the Big Ridge Bluegrass festival we have booked? For the life of me I don't even know!
