Re: Do you have camping withdrawals?
Flag Rock Recreation Area is a city owner/operated recreation area which includes 2 campgrounds, 2 rental picnic shelters that seat about 75 with fireplaces and charcoal pits - volleyball, swings and a couple of climbing things for kids. There are 4 other smaller shelters (first-come) and several other picnic tables sitting throughout the park.
It is about 1 mile from the upper campground to the overlook (uphill) and about 1 1/2 miles from the lower campground. Also, from the back side of Shelter #1, Norton's reservoir is about 1/4 mile. (Yeah, it's up on the mountain above the town - we have GOOD water pressure.)
It's a great place to picnic (we did it when I was growing up and there are lots of good memories of the place).

Not us. The heat is keeping us at home. But we are fall and winter campers any way.

I know what you mean, the heat is bad, but I've got to get out though.
