My favorite camping activity is...

cooking followed closely by reading!!

What is yours? What is it that you find most relaxing or enjoyable while camping? Why?

For me the cooking is a hobby that is growing all the time. My goal is to make sure our eating while camping is always more than hot dogs and canned beans. Plus, I love to cook and share it with others. That is my biggest reason for camping!!

My biggest thing is to make Don happy......I'll never miss one of his meals. I like to have friends camping with me, for the company.

For me, the number one thing is spending time with the kids outside all those structured activities. I also enjoy our conversations, which are mostly about camping. I like the shopping as well, buying used items from the other club members, especially Chuck. (Though I've spotted some stuff at Don's campsite that he should "upgrade" from.)

I like just being "away" from the routine.. Even though we, sometimes.. get busy during our camping trips.. I often just try and slow down and remember that it doesn't matter what time it is. I really don't have to be anywhere at a certain hour.

I have camped several times by myself.. but I really like having a friend nearby.. especially in the evening. I love the laughing and talking around the campfire.

Relaxing and Fishing! Not that I'm a nut about fishing, but I do like to camp where we can fish if possible. Also, The campfire time is definitely a favorite.

I happen to like Hot dogs, brats and canned beans... but not all the time.

I love the beans and dogs too, Dave. You will see that is usually our dinner on the first night of a trip!!

I like the time away to clear my thoughts. I really don't like to cook, so we eat as little and easy as I can. I just want to get away.......

I'm like Richard, spending time with the young-ins is one of my favorite camping activities. But I like all that other stuff you guys said too, especially if it involves eating.

Actually Don, after reading all your cooking and recipe posts, I am more looking forward to meeting you. By the way, we are in Gatlinburg for one more day, any suggestions on great places to eat? Matbe something you don't see that often..

Believe it or not my favorite camping thing to do is sit back or walk around and watch kids play with their family.I think camping is one of the activities that really brings families together, and thats really needed in these days of both parents working and little time for anything else. I like to watch moms and dads throw a frisbee to their kid, ride bikes together..I thought it was wonderful that Richards kids had such a good time with the grownups fishing , the pictures said it all

I like just sitting back relaxing and cooking outside. I like spending time with my 2 boys and friends who tag along. My choice spot would be a campground with no cell phone signal. Just peacefulness.

Sound like Bandy Creek, Very hard to get a cell signal there. Very peaceful, and still lots to do there. We loved it!!

I love sitting around with family and friends and just talking and laughing. Enjoy taking pictures as well. I don't like to cook so try to go as simple as possible.
