Wheel Chocks Empty Wheel Chocks

I have read about scissor wheel chocks or the homemade chocks.
Was thinking are they really necessary to have. We have the wedge wheel chocks and they seem to work.

darlene, when we had our HTT, we used the regular yellow wheel chocks and they worked fine. now that we have our TT, which has tandem tires, we use the wheel chocks and the scissor chocks just to minimize the movement in the TT when you walk or turn over in the bed.
