Internet Speed
I recently switched internet providers. To try and save a few $$.. I switched from COMCAST cable to AT&T U-verse Internet. I realized that the AT&T service I selected would not be as fast as COMCAST.. but, at first, I encountered an even slower and more difficult experience than I had expected.
Anyway.. I now have solved most of the problems and enjoy a lower rate.... saving about $50 per month, for a year.. and then about $40 per month. I only notice a "slower" difference when I download music or video,.. or a large document file.. it takes longer.
I bought the cheapest AT&T "high speed" service available. It's called "AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet Pro" and promises download speed "up to" 3 Mbps. The words "up to" are key here. I have never reached 3 Mbps download speed. Most of the time it's about 1.5 to 1.8 Mbps.. sometimes about 2.25 Mbps.
You can measure your speed here, for free: (I selected Atlanta) http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
How fast is your internet connection? and are you happy with the performance?

Re: Internet Speed
by the way.. your speed will vary depending on the type of connection.. time of day, etc. Many factors come into play that can affect the speed. I check mine several times a day.. just to see whats going on.

Re: Internet Speed
We have the comcast triple play (phone,tv,internet), our connection is very fast, a fairly expensive bundle, but still much less expensive than when we had separate companies for each. Right now, using the link you gave from Atlanta, download speed of 12.43 Mbps. From Seattle, 4.31 Mbps.
I care Chuck...really...kinda. LOL.
