A FEW FIXES I NEED TO DO NEED ADVISE
First looked at the roof and found this
the first pic there are a couple of places where it looks like a stick or something has gouged in this stuff whatever it is .on the second pic you can see where it looks like there is air under the rubber this is in a couple of places around the roof there is no visible signs of leaking but would like to fix this before it does start to leak
I also need advise on this
the bunk is starting to unravel any advise would be appreciated

Is that all the way through your roof? If it was me for the ends that are un raveling, I would try to find a upholster to do the job.

no that is not all the way through the roof just in that grey putty stuff looks like a stick or something gouged it there is another spot on the other side a little bigger and dont know would you not have to take the canvas off for an upholster to do that

If you know of a upholster you could always ask them. They may take it off themselves.jb_simerly wrote:coolbreeze1 wrote:Is that all the way through your roof? If it was me for the ends that are un raveling, I would try to find a upholster to do the job.

I think I would find some way of sealing it. May not be a problem now, but what happens if it gets worse?jb_simerly wrote:coolbreeze1 wrote:If you know of a upholster you could always ask them. As far as the canvas part, Dar or I would just get a sturdy needle and some good thread, use a thimble for your finger and re-sew it together. No need to take it off of the camper that way. You can then re-seal it with some seam sealer by Coleman you can get at Camping world or walmart in the camping section. As far as the roof I would like to see some more pics of a wider area. I know that there are 6" x 6" rubber roof patches at Camping world. I'm not sure however, what the dark patches are.

re:
i will take some more pics dont know if you know this but if you click on the pic it will show a better view that grey stuff is some kind of putty still soft when you touch it it goes all the way across where the rubber roof meets the fiberglass and is around everything on the roof

Ok, I see it now that this is the seam track between the rubber roof and the fiberglass. The lap seal compound that is used is meant to stay soft and pliable so it will move with the expansion and contraction of the roof and body. The lap seal on our 2000 Trail Lite is still pliable and it is 12 years old but now has cracks in some places that I have taken out and replaced. It looks like the damage is limited to the seam track itself. You should be able to take a putty knife and gently take this area of the putty (lap seal) out. You can get the lap seal online or at Camping World at about $11.00 a tube, you also may be able to get it at an RV dealer near you. You will need the self leveling type. Apply it to the area that you took out. It just uses a standard caulk gun to apply. If there is other small damage to the fiberglass, the lap seal should be able to cover that as well. Larger damage would take a fiberglass repair kit to fix. If the rubber roof membrane is damaged slightly, the lap seal again may work or the rubber roof membrane will need a patch to repair. The same lap sealant would be used to repair what looks like the side seam gutter in the other pic. It looks like this is not the first time this was done.

JB, if you wasn't so far away I could help by sewing the canvas together. Are you coming to the April trip? We also have the canvas seal. I did this with the pop up and the HTT. Works great. Use a large needle and follow the holes that are there now. Use heavy height cotton thread. Once the canvas is sewed back then you can apply the seal. Good luck

As far as the bunk end i was thinking about doing what you said just did not know what to use as thread i was thinking heavy fishing line but never thought about sealing it and i am guessing the seal would not stick to fishing line so glad i asked
