Yes, I know. I'm not much for driving north, but would do it sometime. Very Happy

Let me know as soon as possible. For some reason, I just don't care about driving up that way. Don't ask why. Mad

Once again, it's either worry about being mobbed by adoring fans, or outstanding warrants. I'm betting it's all the fans. Kinda like Smokey and the Bandit!

Come on, Cool - head up this way!!!!

Crawford - it is NORMALLY about 10 degrees cooler up there than it is in the low-lands (town), but they are calling for it to be in the 90's, so at least in the 80's up there. It does usually cool down nicely in the evenings, though. We usually have to start wearing jackets in August in the evenings OR sit close to the fire.

That said, we don't get this hot weather during a typical summer like we are having this year. I don't think it hit 90 here at all last summer and it's been 90 or above at least 10 of the last 14 days!! Dang, it's been hot!

It's been 3 weeks since we've been in the TT, so I am ready to go again.

Crawford, come on up - I have 2 kids, ages 6 and 3 and with Richard's three - 9,7 and 5 or whatever they are, there will be plenty of kids. I think our friends from here in Norton are going to stay until the weekend and they have 2 (boy, 10 and girl, 7).

What's a few more kids!!! Old or young!! We'll just put up a tent for them to sleep in!! With a fan, they should be fine at night.

We figure, the more the merrier! We'll just add a little bit more stuff to the stew!

Also, Richard and Tim and Crawford, if he changes his mind.......on my directions, I was wrong on what mile marker it was. I-81 to I-26E/Rt 23North (which is around 54, but may be 58)- through Weber City, Gate City and Duffield - keep heading on north on Rt 23N. The exit is mile marker 41.8, Exit 1 into Norton. From there, turn right and it's about 2 miles to the Flag Rock entrance. Make sure you call me....we are planning to take our camper up at lunch time on Thursday and I will let you know whether you need to come to upper campground or lower. (It's according to how much room is in either). Tim and I will have to have a pretty good size site and Richard will fit in pretty much anywhere.

Hey Crawford, I can sleep plenty of kids in the PUP. I've done two adults and seven kids before. With the c-clamps I don't have any problem with stacking them in there. Come on and join us this weekend. We'll have a blast, and most of all, escape the heat up on that rock.

Chuck - they have electric on each site, but not water, nor sewer. I found at Elkmont that I can live without the water and sewer, but electric is a necessity.

There are water spigots throughout the park and we have enough hose that we don't fill up BEFORE we go up the mountain - just too much weight to pull - but we run the hose AFTER we get set up and fill up our tank.

The bath house is pretty convenient no matter where you are - there is one in the upper (with only 5 sites) and also another one in the lower (10 sites).

City park persons are in the campground first thing each/every morning and clean the bath houses, empty trash cans, etc. so it stays pretty clean.

There is a dump station, but it is located down in the lower campground. About half the time, we dump and the other part, we just carry it back home with us.

We have developed quite a few friends that frequent the park and if somebody is cooking something for supper, others will just add whatever they have and usually do just a big supper for everybody.

Come on up and join us. Bring the camper or leave at home - we'll put you up somewhere!!

thanks for the invite.. but I am working this weekend. It does look like a nice place though. If you have any campground pictures from your trips there.. I would love to see them.

I agree.. I could do without water in the camper.. for a few days. If I had to make a choice.. I would prefer electric.
