Sewer Pipe Question
I looked at my new slinky sewer pipe that came with the trailer yesterday and saw that it had on one end the adapter to hook to your trailers valve pipe but the other end didnt have anything on it. Is that the way its suppose to be? Do I just put the end of the slinky hose down into a dump station opening without an attachment?

Re: Sewer Pipe Question
technically.. you can do that. But it's easier if you have an adapter to go into the drain. In fact.. some CGs require that you hook "securely" to the drain. Walmart will probably have the adapter and various parts. I am sure Camping World will have it.
Looks something like this (read more below picture):
notice the threads.. Most all CG sewer connections and dump stations.. will have a threaded drain.. so you can screw this into the drain and the connection is very secure. The elbow part will clamp onto your hose.. and then will "twist lock" into the drain adapter.
Now.. if your hose is one that uses the clamps.. I would probably just keep it in storage (for a spare) and buy a whole new hose kit (at Walmart). You can find one kit that has the hose.. and all the adapters,.. including the drain adapter.. that "twist lock" on. No clamps. But thats just me.. I like things to be easy.

Re: Sewer Pipe Question
also.. heres a hint: At a CG with sewer connection at each site.. I usually don't hook up the RV's sewer hose.. to the drain.. until I am ready to dump the tanks. Its ok to hook up the sewer when you first set up.. but I wouldn't open the lines until I was ready to dump the tanks.
Here's why: An open line into the sewer... might provide a path for odors from the CGs sewer system.. back up into your camper. Also.. it's better to dump the tanks when they are near full. More liquid provides a better "flush".. and will move black tank refuse through the hose better. In fact, if my tanks are only partially full.. and its convenient.. I will fill them up before dumping. More water... better flush.
Also.. always dump black tank first.. then gray water. The soapy gray water will help rinse the sewer hose.
I know this is more info than you asked for.. but these are things that some of us have learned the hard way.
Lastly.. consider getting a "FLUSH KING".. about $40 from Camping World. Do some research on the FLUSH KING.. and you will want one. It's one of the best things I have purchased for my camper.

Re: Sewer Pipe Question
Thanks Chuck...I like "easy" too so I guess I will just get the kit and keep the one that came with the trailer as back up (never know when a hose might spring a leak). That flush King looks very handy, I think I might check into getting one. I will need to find a campground or service station near where I usually camp to dump, since my campground doesnt have sewer hook up or dump station, strickly water and elect.Thankyou for all your tips too, thats valuble information since all my past experience has just been porta potti.
