by the way.. the photos and review of Jellystone was submitted by a friend. If you guys have some good CG pics.. showing some individual sites and CG amenities.. submit them, along with a review and I'll build a page on the site.

I always heard that this cg was very tight to get into, but the pics look like some easy places to back a 5'er into.

There are several sites at Jellystone that a big 5'er could get into easily. There are a few which would probably be better than others. They put many of them up in the front section in front of the first stream. They would be okay if you wanted to be up near the pavilion with the movies or at the other pavilion where they have the crafts, karaoke, etc.

However, we really prefer sites on the back creek. We were there once when a huge Prevost bus was there, and they had them on site #33. We like that site alot, as long as they do not squeeze someone into #32. When we were there Labor Day, they had campers on #32 and #33. However, they were friends, so it made for a nice buddy site. There are several sites from #33 on up where they normally put the larger 5'ers and motorhomes and that is what I would request. Some sites are roomier than others. If anyone ever has any site specific questions, I would be more than happy to answer them. I definitely would not want sites #48 thru 50. They are right near the bridge and I think it would be really noisy.

If you go, make sure to ask about the "back way" to Pigeon Forge. It is totally traffic free.

We just got back from 5 wonderful nights at Jellystone. I know you all probably get tired of me saying how wonderful Jellystone is all of the time. Smile I have put a few pictures on photobucket to give you an idea of our weekend.

It was the first annual family fun weekend. We started off by making a family banner. We were then sent off on a photo scavenger hunt where we had to take family pictures in a specific place or with a specific item. It was timed. From there it went on to activities such as a water relay which was lots of fun in the rain : ) In another family activity we were given one sheet of newspaper, one roll of tape, 12 straws and an egg. Families had to figure out how to wrap up the egg with only those items in the hopes that the egg would survive a drop from 10 feet. We also constructed towers out of uncooked pasta noodles and marshmallows. For another activity, families had to stand on a towel and turn the towel over without anyone stepping off the towel. Surprisingly, we did it. There is a listing of all of the weekends planned activities in the picture album. The family that accumulated the most points won a free night at Jellystone. We came in tied for 7th. Waterwars was a blast. Kids bring waterguns and they are pulled through the campground where they blast the adults who happen to be blasting them back. Saturday night was a concert by Luke Malone. Sunday night ended with karaoke. I really wanted to post a video but it is too large for photobucket. It is of Dave (the dad) and Adam (the youngest son) singing Staying Alive. They have the disco ball going and everyone is dancing (including a few adults on top of the picnic tables)... it is really funny.... it says so much about the type of campground owners they are that they will make fools of themselves in order to entertain their guests : ) Besides all of the planned activities, we enjoyed a nice fire by the rushing stream.

We look forward to returning for water wars part 2 Labor Day weekend and then for the Halloween weekend in October.

I have to give two thumbs up to Dave, Marta, Mark, Adam, Christina and baby Emma who go above and beyond in running their campground. They are first class people who really care about their campers.....
