Great news to share!!

It is finally offiical...I am a school teacher and I have a job!! Unless things have changed since the interview I am going to be a 2nd grade teacher. I am so excited for Monday morning and my first day of in-service as a real, licensed, employed educator!!

Just had to share this good news with my camping buddies!! BTW, I was at the campground when I got the news. Kind of fitting since teaching and camping are two of my biggest joys!!

Congratulations Don, To me you seem like a man that takes pride in his work so I feel you will do the same with teaching. I have another friend in La. that just got her teaching degree and seems to have the same amount of enthusiasm you do. I really hope and pray it will be everything your wanting. I have a great memory of my second grade teacher, she made that a fun yr. for me.

Congrats Don, and welcome to the fold. There are days when I feel I am way underpaid, then there are days I would do this job for free. One this is sure, each day will be different. The world needs as many good teachers as she can get, thanks for choosing the profession.

Congratulation Don, I know how much you were looking for this job. I know you will have a good time, teaching as you do cooking.

Hate to correct a teacher but, the last sentence of your post, should have read,"teaching and camping are two of my biggest joys!"

Richard, you must have missed reading all of Don's post. The very bottom it said it was edited that the teacher misspelled a word. I just pointed out that he had used the wrong wording in his sentence. This came about after watching all of that educational tv at the cg.

I think I finally have all the mistakes in the original post fixed. Y'all please forgive me I was very excited to share this news with my friends and my fingers cannot type as fast as my mind talks. Or something like that!!!

That is wonderful news.....now, a couple of hints:

1. Your first year in any school - you will be sick all the time - it seems each school has it's own germs and you have NO immunity to them.

2. Your 2nd year is much easier than the 1st year!!! Just keep remembering that when you are struggling.

3. You are a man and probably a rarity in the primary grades for the students AS WELL AS the other teachers.

4. Christmas vacation DOES arrive!! It just seems that it takes at least 10 months to get here.

5. You will love it and at that age, some of them even appreciate you!!
