Natural Tunnel State Park Empty Natural Tunnel State Park

We spent a couple of nights here 2 seasons ago. We left there definitely wanting to go back...

The last 2 years the website has been indicating that they were expanding the campground. I believe the new sites will be ready this next season. Donna (merrykalia) can give more current info on that.

We gave this campground a two thumbs up and can't wait to go back!

The only issues I would need to figure out are.. how hot it would be in the dead of summer as there is not alot of tree cover. There is, however, a pool. I think it would be beautiful in the fall when the leaves are changing.

This campground had non-site specific reservations 2 years ago. That caused issues because you would find a small pup on the biggest site. Then, someone with a big 5'er who had reservations would get there and not have a site to get into. We saw that happen while we were there.

We enjoyed taking the chairlift down one night when they had dancers clogging and the tunnel was lit. We would love to go when we could go on a hayride.

The blockhouse nearby is really interesting. The area is really beautiful. They have a few playgrounds in the park and one up on the hill in the campground. They also had a big group firepit. Bathhouses were clean. There is some nice hiking trails as well.

I have a few pics...

We are looking forward to returning here.

Keep an eye on coolbreeze if he goes with us up there. He'll want to fire that train up and go for a spin. And, of course, I'll want to help him since Jon (my 4 year old) will want to ride.

It's sure pretty countryside up there.
