STAR GAZING AT BANDY CREEK
I have attended this event.. its really fun. Paul Lewis, Astronomy Outreach and Education Director at the University of Tennessee, brings several BIG telescopes out..  They do an astronomy program.. then when the sun goes down everyone gets a chance to look through the telescopes. I am thinking about reserving a campsite for the October 4th Star Gazing event.. Anyone else interested?

Sounds likea fun night. I wonder if ican stay awake past 9:00 pm.
  

ETSU does that at Natural Tunnel in August for the Persied Meteor Shower. They bring their telescopes out to the gazebo area and set them up. It is out in the open on top of a big knoll. We have gone out there for the past 4-5 years, but we don't normally make it too long.

Both sound fun might have to try to make one.

The perseid meteor shower is in August. August 10-13 and they usually come up here on Saturday night, so I don't know when they will do it. I will check and let you know.

I have slept through some spectacular Perseid Showers. Maybe if I use a lot of caffine and some real sudaphed.
